Course Description

This Level 3 Adopting lesson positions you at the intersection of immersive technologies and employability. You’ll explore extended reality (AR, VR, MR) and immersive learning principles, and how to design lesson plans that use XR to bridge classroom and workplace skills. You’ll unpack the emerging metaverse and its underpinning technologies, and consider how to design metaverse based learning experiences.

You’ll then examine generative AI: what it is, how it can support learning and teaching, and how to develop students’ critical, ethical and employability focused use of AI. Finally, you’ll address legal and ethical concerns around the metaverse and AI, and draft practical guidelines for responsible use.

Kerri is passionate about the use of technology in education and how this can be used to engage learners and streamline the role of the educator. With post-graduate university degrees in information technology and eLearning, Kerri has been positioned as an early adopter of artificial intelligence in education.

Kerri has presented at numerous conferences on the topic of generative AI and written courses specifically for teachers on how to make use of this technology in the classroom and beyond.
