This course focuses on how you can use digital technologies to develop learners’ employability skills explicitly. You’ll explore practical ways to build digital capability through everyday study skills tools (note taking, calendars, project and referencing apps), teach cybersecurity and data protection in age-appropriate ways, and help learners understand privacy, multiple online identities and digital threats.
You’ll also examine rules for online communication, learner wellbeing in digital spaces, and how to design synchronous and asynchronous collaboration using tools such as Padlet, Teams, Slack and other platforms. Throughout, you’ll see how these skills transfer directly into workplace expectations around communication, safety, professionalism and teamwork.
Employability skills and digital capability are core expectations in quality training and assessment. Learners need to leave with more than just technical competence; they must be able to work safely online, manage information, collaborate digitally and use tools that mirror workplace practice. This course helps trainers design learning and assessment activities that explicitly build those capabilities, supporting outcomes around learner support, assessment quality and industry relevance.
