Practical Observations Done Well: Benchmarks, Decision Rules & Consistency

Write your awesome label here.

Webinar Description

Practical observations are high-value evidence—but they can quickly become inconsistent across assessors if benchmarks and decision rules aren’t clear. This session helps you strengthen observation-based assessment so judgements are more reliable, feedback is more meaningful, and learners experience consistent expectations across trainers and sites.

Key topics covered:

  • What “good” observation evidence looks like and how to avoid common pitfalls
  • Building benchmarks that support consistent judgements (without over-complicating)
  • Decision rules: what must be seen, what can be inferred, and what needs follow-up
  • Assessor guidance and calibration activities to improve reliability
  • Practical tools: observation checklists, notes guidance, and consistency checks
