Former Executive Director Vocational Education and RTO Manager - TAFE Queensland & Quality Expert - skilled nation

Julie Healy recently finished her role as Executive Director Vocational Education and RTO Manager of TAFE Queensland.

Julie has over 28 years' experience in vocational education and training in a diverse range of leadership roles, advising internal and external clients around RTO compliance and driving quality learning, teaching and assessment, pedagogical practices, student engagement and retention, educator capability and workforce development.

Julie was responsible for compliance and quality improvements to TAFE Queensland’s learning, teaching and assessment, including the development and implementation of VET training products.

Prior to taking up her current role in 2017, Julie held the roles of Director of Learning and Teaching, and Manager, Learning and Teaching Quality at TAFE Queensland.

Chris Enright

Chris is a highly respected leader in the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, with more than 18 years of experience driving excellence in quality assurance and navigating complex compliance requirements across a wide variety of training provider types. Serryn O'Regan

CEO of EQC Institute, and Executive Manager Governance at Evolve College

Serryn O'Regan is CEO of EQC Institute, and Executive Manager Governance and General Counsel at Evolve College.

The college group has 16 campuses Australia-wide, and delivers IT (coding, cyber security, AI), business, health. Serryn is a senior lawyer with 32 years of legal and commercial experience. She was a Senior Associate at Allens in the 1990s, and the lead lawyer on corporate joint ventures and deals worth up to $2.4 billion.

Serryn has acted for a series of multi-national corporate groups in large corporate joint ventures, national and international sales and deals involving Government, privatisation, energy (including the sale of the largest gas pipeline in Australia), mergers and acquisitions (national and international) and other major deals.

Aaron Hines leads the design and development of nationally recognised training products that support workforce capability across creative and service-based industries.

Lauren Boon

Director - Aniwaya Education Services

Lauren Boon, CEO and Director of Aniwaya Education Services, has worked in the education sector for nearly 20 years and has been a passionate advocate for education and training for more than three decades.


She works with organisations and individuals across the education and education support sectors to strengthen quality training and help providers realise their purpose, ultimately enhancing opportunities for students across Australia.


Lauren is particularly passionate about creating educational opportunities where they do not yet exist. She believes every individual should have the chance to build learning and employment pathways through improved digital access and educational inclusion.

Michael Gleadow

fOUNDER - Connect 'n' grow

Michael is a successful entrepreneur and highly regarded RTO founder who believes in the power of people, with education helping to overcome the greatest of adversities.

He is the founder of Connect 'n' Grow, Founding Director with Seed Foundation Australia and has filled roles such as Queensland Director of Peak Body ITECA, and former Chair of ITECA's Queensland Committee.

In 2012, Michael Gleadow and his wife Dr. Naomi Gleadow founded RTO, Connect ‘n’ Grow to help Australia’s First People. With their education and health backgrounds, the couple decided to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Seed Foundation Australia is a not for profit established by Founding Chairman, Michael in 2015. Seed provides end to end wrap around support for Indigenous students looking to pursue a career in health or social services. 

Bron O'Callaghan

Board EXECUTIVE - Foundation Learning Centre & Chair - ITECA Victoria Committee 

Bron O’Callaghan brings over two decades of experience in teaching, compliance, and senior leadership across a diverse range of training providers. She has specialist expertise in the Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VDSS) sector and a strong record of educational leadership.

As Board of Management Executive Co-Chair at Foundation Learning Centre, Bron plays a pivotal role in guiding strategic governance and driving initiatives that enhance educational outcomes.
In her capacity as Chair of the ITECA Victoria Committee, Bron is a passionate advocate for the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, working collaboratively with education partners to promote best practice.

John Liddicoat

Founder and CEO - Octossure

John Liddicoat is the Founder and CEO of Octossure, a compliance and quality management system built specifically for Australia’s Registered Training Organisations.

John’s twenty-plus years of evolving expertise across GTO’s, RTO’s, Australian apprenticeships, international education, Indigenous employment, community development programs and employment services have made him a respected advisor in the VET sector.

John has Chaired the National Apprentice Employment Network (NAEN) and the Apprentice Employment Network NSW ACT (AEN NSW & ACT) and remains actively involved with various VET sector businesses.

Kylie Houghton is Education Quality and Curriculum Advisor at William Angliss Institute, with strong expertise in curriculum and assessment development, quality assurance and stakeholder engagement.

She works closely with academic and training teams to design and review programs, strengthen assessment practice and embed quality systems that support both regulatory compliance and improved learner outcomes. Kylie is known for her practical and thoughtful approach, with a strong focus on education that is industry aligned, student centred and outcomes driven.

Kylie is particularly interested in helping providers build a culture of quality across teaching teams, simplify compliance and create meaningful learning experiences that set students up for success.

Matt Peachey

Matt Peachey is CEO of TLRG and a business growth expert with more than 16 years' experience across education and training.

Sarah Pavy 

Head of Partnerships - ReadCloudVET

Sarah is Head of Partnerships at ReadCloudVET, where she leads initiatives to expand high quality VET in Schools programs and flexible pathway options for young people across multiple states and sectors. With a background spanning leadership roles as General Manager of Ripponlea Institute and Compliance, Learning and Assessment Manager across three collaborative RTOs, Sarah brings deep expertise in designing and supporting VETDSSS programs that are rigorous, engaging and industry relevant.


Over nearly two decades she has worked with around 100 schools nationally as an expert VET Applied Languages consultant, helping them implement Certificate II in Applied Language in 12 languages. Sarah collaborates closely with schools, RTO partners and sector networks to interpret policy and regulatory shifts, develop compliant learning and assessment strategies, and support teachers to confidently deliver quality VET programs in secondary settings.


An experienced education consultant and public speaker, Sarah is particularly passionate about building meaningful vocational pathways that give school students relevant choices, positive learning experiences and a strong foundation for further study and employment.

Douglas Dean

Head of Learning Design and innovation - RTO Logic

Douglas Dean is a digital learning leader and LMS and EdTech specialist, recognised across the Australian VET sector for his work in learning design, innovation and the practical application of generative AI in education. As Head of Learning Design and Innovation, he leads future focused education strategies that blend emerging technologies with sound pedagogy, robust assessment and compliance requirements. His work spans organisation wide digital uplift, educator capability building and the design of scalable AI enabled solutions that genuinely enhance teaching and learning.


Douglas has led digital and blended program development at all AQF levels, strengthening quality and consistency through smart use of learning technologies, data and design standards. He has overseen the transition of programs to blended and online delivery, delivered VR based learning experiences and co designed gamified programs with industry and education partners.

Sukh Sandhu

Sukh Sandhu is Executive Director of Compliance and Quality Assurance Group (CAQA) and a multi-award-winning leader in quality, compliance and innovation across the VET and higher education sectors.


With more than 30 years of experience, Sukh has held senior leadership roles across Registered Training Organisations and Higher Education Providers, including CEO positions with leading international colleges. He has built a strong reputation for helping education providers navigate complex regulatory environments with confidence, clarity and practical insight.


Through CAQA, Sukh and his team have supported providers across Australia with compliance services, strategic advice and the development of more than 75,000 training and education resources. Michelle Fitton

General Manager - Blueprint Career Development

Michelle Fitton is the General Manager of Blueprint Career Development, where she leads growth, compliance and delivery quality across school, corporate and community programs, with a strong focus on scalable systems and inclusive learning design.

With more than 13 years in this role, she is an experienced VET leader who combines business development, operational oversight and quality assurance to deliver training that is both compliant and genuinely impactful for learners and industry.

Vanessa McCarthy

Founder - Prickly2sweet
Vanessa McCarthy is an experienced VET compliance specialist, assessment validation expert and former VET auditor with deep practical knowledge of the Australian vocational education and training sector.

She is the Founder of prickly2sweet and Managing Director of Education Compliance Validators, where she supports RTOs to strengthen assessment validation, quality systems and compliance with national and international standards. Her work focuses on helping providers identify gaps, improve evidence, strengthen assessment practice and build more reliable quality assurance processes.

Vanessa brings extensive experience as a Compliance Manager across multiple RTOs, as well as previous regulatory auditing experience with the Department of Employment and Training in Queensland. This combination of provider-side and audit-side experience gives her a strong understanding of both operational reality and regulatory expectations.

Through prickly2sweet, Vanessa is focused on making validation more efficient, evidence-based and learner-centred. She is committed to helping RTOs reduce unnecessary complexity while maintaining strong compliance, quality and defensible assessment practice.

Karen Nicholas

Karen Nicholas is an accomplished tertiary education specialist with more than 30 years’ experience in the Australian vocational education and training sector across government and private provider settings. Karen brings deep experience in VET leadership, learning and teaching, delivery models and quality improvement.

As VET Head of Learning and Teaching at Batchelor Institute, Karen contributes to the learning and teaching leadership of Australia’s only First Nations dual sector tertiary education provider. Her work is grounded in Batchelor Institute’s Both-ways Learning philosophy, which positions First Nations peoples as knowledge holders and places First Nations ways of learning and teaching at the centre of engagement with Western knowledge systems.

At the VETQI Summit, Karen will speak about Batchelor Institute’s Both-ways Learning philosophy and its relevance to culturally safe, learner-centred and high-quality vocational education.
