Course Description

This course focuses on experimenting with digital approaches to teaching in face to face, blended and fully online environments. You’ll start by deepening your understanding of copyright, statutory education licences and Creative Commons, using realistic scenarios to decide what you can and can’t use. You’ll then explore practical strategies for embedding and referencing web based content, using iframes and HTML basics to troubleshoot when things go wrong.

From there, you’ll move into classroom based technologies (projectors, devices, Wi Fi, hardware and software checks) and examine how gamification and game based learning can boost engagement without overwhelming learners. You’ll also explore blended learning strategies such as flipped classrooms, inquiry based learning and SQRRR, and finish with approaches for building strong online learning communities, running synchronous and asynchronous sessions, and experimenting with virtual worlds and the metaverse.
Note: Access is granted for 3 months from the date of enrolment.
